Extra Miler Development Program Manager

Role Overview

  • Mission: The Learning Program Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving learning and development programs that build Extra Miler capability and support Riverstone’s performance. This role ensures that learning initiatives are aligned with Riverstone’s business needs by assessing skill gaps, delivering effective training experiences, and evaluating program impact to drive ongoing development and results.

  • Core objective: Drive growth and engagement in learning initiatives through extreme ownership from analysis to evaluation of learning programs to empower Riverstone to be the first fully integrated, coast-to-coast, big & bulky logistics company in North America.

  • Organizational Navigator: You understand how workflows across departments and can align learning initiatives with operational priorities, ensuring programs support real business outcomes.

  • Influencer & Communicator: You communicate clearly and confidently, partnering with leaders, instructors, and stakeholders to gain buy-in and ensure learning programs are adopted and impactful.

  • Process-Driven Improver: You excel at creating structure, managing workflows, and measuring success, ensuring learning programs are consistent, scalable, and continuously improving.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Assesses learning and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and customer representatives.

  • Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills learning for employees and customers.

  • Develops unique learning programs to fulfill workers’ specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.

  • Presents learning and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.

  • Analyzes results of tests and assessments and evaluates the need for retraining or edits to existing requirements.

  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.

  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in learning and development.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Adept with a variety of multimedia learning platforms and methods.

  • Ability to evaluate and research learning options and alternatives.

  • Ability to design and implement effective learning and development.

  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • At least two years of training experience is required.

  • Demonstrated experience with needs assessment, content creation, workshop facilitation, and e-learning authoring tools
